Catholic Life
Catholic Social Teaching, calls us all as Catholics to work for the common good, help build a just society, uphold the dignity of human life and work for justice and the dignity of all our brothers and sisters, especially those in the greatest need.
Some of our recent activies include:
Christingle Making
Pupils in early years and Key Stage 1 have been learning about the meaning of the Christingle. Children explored the Christian symbolism behind the candle, orange, ribbon and sweets, helping them to understand Jesus as the Light of the World. They also had the opportunity to make their own Christingles, supporting hands-on learning and spiritual reflection.
Care for Creation
Class 2 took part in an outdoor learning experience at Broom House Farm Forest Adventure. This visit was explicitly linked to Catholic Social Teaching, particularly Care for Creation. Pupils learned about respecting the natural world, appreciating God’s creation and understanding their responsibility to look after the environment.
Participation and Community
Class 3 engaged in collaborative gymnastic activities, working together to create group routines. This learning was linked to the Catholic Social Teaching principle of Participation, promoting teamwork, mutual respect, inclusion and the importance of contributing positively to the community.
