I am Julie Hill and I feel very privileged to be the Executive Head Teacher of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School.
St Mary’s is a unique little school set in beautiful surroundings. We are a nurturing and caring school, with a strong sense of family and community. With only three classes in the whole school, our compassionate team of staff, build meaningful relationships with all of our children, enabling them to feel valued and supported.
We welcome pupils of all faiths and no faiths. Spirituality, and a strong Catholic ethos is at our core and it drives us to accept and celebrate all that is different in us. We are all unique, talented and loved by God and this can be seen in the respect that we show for one another, and the way that we treat one another.
We are in receipt of the Gold Award as a Rights Respecting School. Our children have a voice and feel heard. They are taught how to express themselves confidently, and with respect, challenge what is unfair for themselves and others. Their understanding of Children’s rights, inspires fundraising and develops a sense of humility and compassion.
Our curriculum offer is rich and wide, reflecting the world in which we live. Music, sporting opportunities and wellbeing play an important part in our school life and support the development of the whole child. Our curriculum, helps our children to learn about and develop skills that will allow them to achieve success now and in the future.
Ofsted 2016 call us “warm and caring”, we provide a “good quality of education”, they state that our children “look forward to the varied & rich topics that the curriculum provides”, and that “it was also noticeable how kind and caring pupils are to one another”.
St Mary’s Catholic Primary School is a caring and safe place to be, where we all follow Christ’s message to respect, love and care for each other. We strive hard to develop every child’s potential and talent by providing a wide range of academic and extra-curricular opportunities.

The success of the school is reflected in the dedicated work of everyone connected with us – the children, staff, parents and governors, and our local parish community.
